Client Description

Telefónica of Perú is the leading telecommunications operator in the peruvian market, it offers many type of services such as Interent broadband access, traditionally offered by wired means such as ADSL, but due to the demand and location of new customers in the region of Pampa de Villacurí it has to be deployed a transport and access network in the band of 3.5GHz, so Telefónica could use its previously allocated frequency.



 
Ica is a region in Peru. It borders the Pacific Ocean on the west; the Lima Region on the north; the Huancavelica and Ayacucho regions on the east; and the Arequipa Region on the south. Its capital is the city of Ica.

Project Description

The project of Pampa de Villacuri consisted in bringing rural broadband access services to enterprise customers in that region, in order to accomplish with it, it has been installed a main backhaul link for transporting data and a wireless access system for the end users.

In the city of Ica, there is the main site of Telefónica with Internet access, from that point it is deployed a point to point link in the band of 3.5GHz (Netkrom MB-ROMB +3.5GHz module + 28dBi directional dish type antenna) to a repeating site of Telefónica located at Prieto Hills.

In the repeating site there is a Netkrom equipment (ISP-BS350) that serves as the wireless access point from which it is offered the service to the customers of Pampa de Villacurí, the Pampa de Villacurí is a wide extension of fields of crops that extends many miles, and there are many customers that need broadband services such as internet and telephony.

For the initial phase of the project it has been selected the first six customers which are apart 6, 14, 16, 17 and 24 kilometers from Prieto hills, each customer has installed an ISP-CPE350 equipment with integrated antennas for the closest users and a MB-ROMB equipment with external 28dBi grid type antennas in the 3.5GHz band for the farthest customers.
