The solution is built upon a 3E1 Fiber line which is then converted into a wireless connection that is then implemented into a point to multipoint scenario for the end users.
Company Description


GlobalNet Magdalena Ltda uses digital wireless technology that allows them to operate as a wireless internet service provider to the city of Plato Magdalena, Colombia using the ISM standard of 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz.

This system is built upon IP packet based radio transmitters with standard Ethernet interfaces. This allows speeds up to a 36Mbps transmission rate with the use of a ISP-BS500GH, which provides wireless access similar to an Internet bandwidth to various points along the wireless radio frequency coverage.
Project Description

The geographical features of the landsite has permitted the use of a point to multi-point topology set-up to give Internet service to the city of Plato Magdalena.


Base Station: The base station ISP-BS500GH is mounted in the Public Services office with four 600mW RF ports that are connected to 90° and 17dBi gain sectored antennas.


Currently there are approximately 30 subscribers in total counted.

Subscribers: Each subscriber station consists of a 3m post as support and of a ISP-CPE500G configured in a Client Routing mode.

Installation Observations:

  • The installation of the Base Station is mounted on top of a 40 meter tall tower.


  • The installation of the Base Station takes into consideration the right number of lightning rods against lighting strikes.


  • The 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz frequencies were found to be free of interference, only one or two more existing 2.4GHz connections in the city were discovered additionally to the connections of GlobalNet Magdalena.
